A technique of thoracotomy via the triangle of auscultation is described.
It avoids the division of latissimus dorsi, serratus anterior, and
trapezius muscles, with its consequent morbidity, and provides excellent
access to the thoracic cavity and the posterior aspect of the mediastinum.
