The combination of left aortic arch, right descending aorta, and right
patent ductus arteriosus is a rare form of aortic arch anomaly. Only 11
such cases have been previously reported. A 6-month-old infant with this
anomaly manifested severe respiratory difficulty and feeding problems in
the early newborn period. The aortic arch abnormalities were confirmed by
angiocardiography, and operative correction was successful. This is the
first case reported in which the patient developed severe respiratory and
feeding difficulties due to this type of a vascular ring.
