Significant improvement in flow through a potential internal mammary graft after partial approximation of the sternum

A large internal mammary artery provided inadequate flow on testing, but
its use was fortunately not abandoned until after partial closure of the
sternal retractor. Reassessment following this maneuver identified ample
flow.
