Unusual complication of direct left atrial pressure monitoring line

We are here reporting the case of a left atrial pressure monitoring line that caused mechanical interference with the functioning of a Bjork-Shiley mitral valve. The catheter wedged the disc into a closed position and caused the patient's death.
